Carlos Wins Gold at the Kimura Cup Malaga

We are delighted to share that Carlos, a patient we have treated at CellOrtho, recently won gold at the Kimura Cup in Torremolinos. The competition is officially called the Kimura Cup Malaga, but the event itself takes place in Torremolinos, and seeing Carlos on the top step of the podium was a genuine highlight for our team.

Carlos is a dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor who trains hard around work, family and the rest of life. When a persistent joint issue started limiting him on the mats, he was not ready to step back from the sport he loves. He came to CellOrtho to see whether a non-surgical approach could help him keep competing.

    From injury to treatment

After a thorough consultation and review of his imaging, we recommended a combined course of orthobiologic treatment. Rather than relying on a single approach, Carlos followed a personalised protocol that drew on three of our core regenerative therapies: PRP therapy, which uses concentrated growth factors from his own blood; cell-free signalling therapy, which supports tissue repair through biological signalling molecules; and cellular therapy, which uses regenerative cells to promote healing in the affected joint.

Carlos responded well. Over the following weeks he noticed a gradual improvement in comfort and mobility, and he was able to return to training progressively. As with any regenerative protocol, the response varies from person to person, but his recovery was encouraging to follow.

Back on the mats and on the podium

The Kimura Cup is a well-respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition, and the field is always competitive. Carlos prepared carefully, trained smart and put in a fantastic performance on the day.

The photo above shows him at the centre of the podium, taking first place at the Kimura Cup Malaga in Torremolinos. It is a reminder that many active people do not want to stop doing what they love. They want a treatment path that supports their recovery without forcing them into long breaks or premature surgery.

What this means for other athletes and active patients

Carlos's story is one example of why early, targeted intervention matters. Whether you are a competitive grappler, a weekend runner, or simply someone dealing with persistent joint pain, the right assessment and treatment plan can make a meaningful difference.

At CellOrtho, we focus on non-surgical regenerative options for people who want to stay active. We are not promising miracles, and we do not replace surgery when surgery is genuinely needed. We do help patients understand whether their condition may respond to orthobiologic treatment, and we support them through the process.

Congratulations again to Carlos on the gold medal. We are proud to have played a part in his recovery journey.
